June 27 – With great excitement we will depart our homes and travel to North Sydney to overnight at Hotel North 902-794-8581 – A perfect opportunity for a meet and greet party while enjoying our Delicious Group Meal.
June 28 – We will begin our exciting day by enjoying our hearty breakfast to prepare ourselves to sail on the 12:15pm crossing to Port aux Basque. A perfect location at Hotel Port Aux Basque for Newfoundland cuisine and a Newfoundland kitchen Party! First night on the Rock – Hotel Port Aux Basque 709-695-2171.
June 29 – Following our Newfoundland Breakfast at Port aux Basque we will begin our Newfoundland adventure and travel to Corner Brook for a delightful lunch at the impressive heritage Glymill Inn before travelling the Northern Peninsula to our two nights accommodation in Cow’s Head, Shallow Bay Inn 800-563-1946 located on the shores of Northumberland Strait and a perfect location for Newfoundland cuisine!
June 30 – Following a delicious breakfast we will enjoy the thrilling experience on the Western Brook Pond Boat Tour. Be amazed by the spectacular glacier carved land locked fjord, waterfalls cascading from 2000 feet, billion year old cliffs – This will be a day to cherish. 2025 is the first year that Nancy’s Tours has offered this amazing addition to your holiday as Parks Canada has made it possible by eliminating a 45 minute walk to the Fjord by providing a shuttle service.
July 1 – Happy Canada Day – Following our delicious breakfast we will begin travelling on the Viking Trail to the Northern tip of this Grand Province to St. Anthony – Upon arrival we will visit L’anse aux Meadows National Historic Site – a guided tour of UNESCO world Heritage site will be greatly enjoyed! To add to your Viking experience and to celebrate Canada’s Day we will attend a Great Viking Feast Leifsburdir!! Oh what a day!
July 2 – This morning we will be guest at Dr. Wilfred Grenfell Mission – to learn of the early primitive medical services in so many isolated out ports. We will depart St. Anthony and travel to St. Barb to catch the 3:30 Ferry to Labrador. Our home tonight is L’anse aux Clair Northern Light 709-931-2332.
July 3 – This morning we will journey, throughout rugged Labrador to Red Bay to visit Red Bay National Historic site dedicated to the 16th century Basque Whalers. Plus to enjoy a delicious Group lunch at “Whalers” – A great location to witness Labrador’s hospitality. Catching the 3:30 ferry we will return to the mainland and overnight at our Dear Sea Echo Hotel located in Port aux Choix 709-861-3777. Upon arrival in picturesque Seaport Historical Village we will be treated to a delicious cuisine meal and another Newfoundland Kitchen Party – A perfect location to kick up our heels!
July 4 – After enjoying a delicious breakfast we will visit Point Riche Lighthouse a perfect location to see caribous don’t forget your camera! We will travel to charming Town of Rocky Harbour for photo opportunities plus a delightful lunch at Ocean View Restaurant before visiting quaint Sea Side tours as Woody Point and Trout River. A visit to the impressive Discovery Center before witnessing the geological wonders of the world “Tablelands”. Tonight’s accommodation TBA
July 5 – Today we will begin to explore Central Newfoundland by travelling across the vast province to Gander – to overnight and be guest at Joseph R Smallwood Arts and culture Center to attend “Come From Away” performance. A breathtaking musical tells the remarkable true story of 7000 stranded passengers and the communities in Newfoundland & Labrador that welcomed them on 9/11. Tonight’s accommodation is at Gander’s Sinbad Hotel 709-651-2675.
July 6- Another exciting day awaits us as we travel along Iceberg Alley to picturesque Twillingate. Upon arrival we will visit the Durrell Museum and Crafts featuring Polar Bear and Auk Exhibits. A delightful lunch at the Anchor Inn Hotel ideally located on the shores of Twillingate Harbour will be enjoyed. Photo opportunities of Iceberg Alley at Long Point Lighthouse plus a visit to Auk Winery makes this a great way to end our Twillingate experience before travelling to our two nights destination Terra Nova Resort 709-543-2525.
July 7- We will experience another perfect Newfoundland day by exploring the Bonavista Peninsula. Just like John Cabot did in 1497! We will visit charming Trinity and view their many recognized Registered Heritage Buildings. This is a perfect location for a delicious lunch at Trinity’s 300 year old Dock Marina. We will continue along the Trinity loop to Elliston, the “Root Cellar” Capital of the World. There will be many photo opportunities of Dungeon Park before visiting “Cape Bonavista Lighthouse” a perfect location to see Whales and Puffins!
July 8- Following breakfast our journey will take us to Burin Peninsula for our two nights stay at Marystown Hotel and Convention Center 709-279-1600. Before arriving in Marystown, we will be amazed at Vernon Antique Car Museum – an amazing collection of the rarest antique cars in North America.
July 9- A fun day has been designed for you to travel to nearby picture perfect Burin! One of my favorite Newfoundland towns. We will welcome our delightful step on guide to enlighten us on the history and hardships of this rugged outport which was built along a series of high cliffs and sheltered coves! We will continue onward to visit St. Lawrence for our delicious lunch plus a visit to their very impressive museum which explains the devastation history and the once mined Fluorspar Mineral. Following our most heart – warming visit we will continue to explore the Bruin Peninsula often referred to as The Boot!!
July 10- Saying farewell to the Barren Land of Bruin Peninsula we will journey to Newfoundland’s Capital – Our home for two nights at the very impressive St. John’s Hilton Garden Inn 709-383-1310. We will become familiar to the Avalon Peninsula by travelling to nearby Bay Bulls for our very exciting Whale Watching and Puffin Excursion to be followed by visiting Canada’s most easterly point Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site.
July 11- This morning we will become acquainted with St. John’s as we welcome our very informative City Tour guide. We will visit Iconic highlights at Signal Hill, and Quidi Vidi plus much more – A free afternoon will be yours to enjoy downtown Water St., and the famous George St before our Screech In Ceremony and Farewell Party.
July 12- We will complete our Newfoundland experience by visiting two very picturesque small towns – Brigus – the home of the “Rock Solid Builds” and Dildo – A colorful town nested on the shores of Trinity Bay– that has received a lot of attention since ABC’s Late Night Show host Jimmy Kimmel’s staff visited and placed a Hollywood “Dildo” sign on the Mountain Side. Reservations have been arranged for us to bid Farewell to this amazing province by catching the 5:30pm Argentia Ferry for our 15 hour sail. I have cabins reserved for all guests to add to your comfort.
July 13- Upon a 9:00am arrival in North Sydney we will return home with Wonderful New Found Friends, spectacular memories of a Spectacular holiday!
