October 3- Our exciting holiday will begin by crossing Calais’s International Border to our night’s accommodations in Portsmouth, NH Holiday Inn 603-431-8000 October 4- Today’s journey will continue on to Plymouth, Mass. “Americas Hometown” to visit the Mayflower11, we will learn about the pioneering voyage of the pilgrims as we step on the replica of the mayflower to hear stories of the remarkable voyage. Before departing this historical town you will have the opportunity to stroll Plymouths main street to enjoy the numerous shops and restaurants. We will say farewell to Massachusetts mainland and cross the Sagamore Canal and travel to Cape Cod’s oldest town Sandwich and United States largest collection of Sandwich Glass wear we will have a comprehensive portrait of glass making. Our accommodations are at Hyannis Motor Inn (508-775-2166) – ideally located on Hyannis’s Main St. will welcome you for the next 4 nights.
October 5 – An exciting day has been arranged for you to sail to famous Martha’s Vineyard Island. – capturing breathtaking scenery, exploring beautiful beaches, lighthouses, impressive sea captain homes and the renowned Ginger Bread House.
October 6 – Today we will welcome our step-on-guide for a day touring Cape Cod – making numerous stops of interest , Kennedy Memorial, Cape Cod National Seashore Visitor’s Center, Provincetown where we are surrounded by land and sea.
October 7 – Another exciting cruise has been arranged for you to the charming island of Nantucket. A narrated bus tour will assist us to capture natural beauty and witness the lifestyle of the rich & famous!
October 8 – With mixed feelings we will bid farewell to beautiful Cape Cod and travel to Duxbury, Mass to pilgrims John & Priscilla Alden home built in 1630….one of America’s founding families. Alden House Historic Site is part of the original property granted to Mayflower Passengers John Alden and Priscilla Mullins in 1627 and home to generations of their descendants. Their courtship was immortalized as one of America’s great love stories Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem “Courtship of Myles Standish. Before departing historical Duxbury we will have a photo opportunity of a 116 foot granite shaft crowned by a 14 foot statue of Captain Myles Standish, a pilgrim and military leader of Plymouth colony located high atop Captain Hill. Continuing on to Boston, Mass for a lunch at the ever so popular Quincy Market before welcoming our step-on-guide for a most interesting city tour of Boston. October 9 – Returning to our homes with wonderful memories of lives of pilgrims and beautiful Cape Cod!
