June 28- With great excitement we will depart our homes and travel to North Sydney to our nights accommodations Hotel North 902-994-8581. A perfect location for our Meet and Greet Party.
June 29- Following our hearty breakfast we will prepare ourselves to catch the 12:15pm to sail for a 5 ½ – 6 hour crossing to Port aux Basque – Our home for our first night on the Rock – A perfect location for our first NFLD Cuisine plus Newfoundland Musical Entertainment!! Your accommodations will be at Hotel Port Aux Basque 709-695-2171.
June 30- Our journey will take us today to Cornerbrook for a delightful lunch at the impressive Glymill Inn before traveling to the Northern Peninsula to our nights accommodation in Cow’s Head Swallow Bay Inn 800-563-1946. Another great location for a delicious Newfoundland Cuisine.
July 1– Following breakfast we will continue North to Hawkes Bay to visit the Torrent River Salmon Interpretation Center. We will enjoy a delightful lunch at the Torrent River Inn before continuing North to our two night accommodations. St. Antony’s Hotel North 709-454-3300. Tonight we will celebrate Canada Day by attending a “Great Viking Feast Leifsburdir” ideally located in a Sod Hut – This will certainly be a night to remember!
July 2- Today will be an exciting day as we visit UNESCO World Heritage Site “L’Anse aux Meadows National Historical Site. We will also visit the Dr. Wilfred Grenfell Mission an absolute must to view early primitive medical services in Labrador and Newfoundland. This evening we will enjoy a great Newfoundland Musical evening!
July 3- We will depart St. Anthony and travel towards St. Barb to catch our 10:15am ferry crossing to Labrador. Upon arrival we will make the rugged journey to Red Bay and visit Red Bay’s National Historic Site dedicated to the 16th century Basque Whalers. Next we have a great destination for a delightful Group Meal at “Whalers” Restaurant – Always a fun experience! Tonight’s accommodation is at Northern Light 709-931-2332.
July 4- Catching our mid morning crossing we will return to NFLD and travel to Port aux Choix , our nights accommodations at Sea Echo Hotel 709-861-3777. We will visit the Port aux Choix Historic Site – where we will learn the crossroads of 6000 years of human history. So often caribou are here to welcome us! Tonight we will be treated to a delicious Newfoundland cuisine meal and musical entertainment, a perfect location to kick up our heels.
July 5- Following our delicious breakfast we will travel to Rocky Harbour to enjoy the picturesque Sea Side Town, and a delightful lunch at the Ocean View Restaurant Next we will enjoy our two hour Bonne Bay Boat Cruise from Norris Point to Woody Point, a spectacular display of Mother Natures craftsmanship. Then a visit to the impressive Discovery Center will be enjoyed before witnessing the geological wonders of the world “Tablelands” – Tonight’s accommodations at Deer Lake Motel 709-635-2108.
July 6- Following a delicious breakfast our travels will take us across this huge vast picturesque province to our nights accommodations at Lewisport a quaint picturesque town. Settled on the shores of Notre Dame Bay one of the most beautiful recreational boating destinations, Brittany Inn 709-535-2533.
July 7- Another exciting day awaits us as we travel along Iceberg Alley to picturesque Twillingate. Upon arrival we will visit the Durrell Museum and Crafts featuring Polar Bear and Auk Exhibits. A delightful lunch at the Anchor Inn Hotel ideally located on the shores of Twillingate Harbour will be enjoyed. Photo opportunities of Iceberg Alley at Long Point Lighthouse plus a visit to Auk Winery makes this a great way to end our Twillingate experience before traveling to our two nights destination Terra Nova Resort 709-543-2525.
July 8- We will experience another perfect Newfoundland day by exploring the Bonavista Peninsula. Just like John Cabot did in 1497! We will visit charming Trinity and view their many recognized Registered Heritage Buildings. This is a perfect location for a delicious lunch at Trinity’s 300 year old Dock Marina. We will continue along the Trinity loop to Elliston, the “Root Cellar” Capital of the World. There will be many photo opportunities of Dungeon Park before visiting “Cape Bonavista Lighthouse” a perfect location to see Whales and Puffins!
July 9- Following breakfast our journey will take us to Burin Peninsula for a two nights stay at Marystown Hotel and Convention Center 709-279-1600. Before arriving in Marystown, we will be amazed at Vernon Antique Car Museum – an amazing collection of the rarest antique cars in North America.
July 10- A fun day has been designed for you to travel to nearby picture perfect Burin! One of my favorite Newfoundland towns. We will welcome our delightful step on guide to enlighten us on the history and hardships of this rugged outport which was built along a series of high cliffs and sheltered coves! We will continue onward to visit St. Lawrence for our delicious lunch plus a visit of their very impressive museum which explains the devastation history and the once mined Fluorspar Mineral. Following our most heart – warming visit we will continue to explore the Bruin Peninsula often referred to as the Boot!!
July 11- Saying farewell to the Barren Land of Bruin Peninsula we will journey to Newfoundland’s Capital – Our home for two nights at the very impressive St. John’s Hilton Garden Inn 709-383-1310. We will become familiar to the Avalon Peninsula by traveling to nearby Bay Bulls for our very exciting Whale Watching and Puffin Excursion to be followed by visiting Canada’s most easterly point Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site.
July 12- This morning we will become acquainted with St. John’s as we welcome our very informative City Tour guide. We will visit Iconic highlights at Signal Hill, and Quidi Vidi plus much more – A free afternoon will be yours to enjoy downtown Water St., and the famous George St before our Screech In Ceremony and Farewell Party.
July 13- We will complete our Newfoundland experience by visiting two very picturesque small towns – Brigus – the home of the “Rock Solid Builds” and Dildo – A colorful town nested on the shores of Trinity Bay– that has received a lot of attention since ABC’s Late Night Show host Jimmy Kimmel’s staff visited and placed a Hollywood “Dildo” sign on the Mountain Side. Reservations have been arranged for us to bid Farewell to this amazing province by catching the 5:30pm Argentia Ferry for our 15 hour sail. I have cabins reserved for all guest to add to your comfort.
July 14- Upon a 9:00am arrival in North Sydney we will return home with Wonderful New Found Friends, spectacular memories of a Spectacular holiday!
